The Hooikamer

Ideal for small groups: a meeting or a workshop in a private room.

up to 8 people · private room

The Hooikamer set up for a meeting: one long rough wooden table with notepads, pens, carafes of water and posies of wild flowers, dark blue armchairs on one side and a cognac leather bench on the other. Behind the table a large screen in an oak frame shows the name Het Ruiterhuys in white handwriting; to its left a wood-burning stove in a brick chimney breast with an antler skull above it, and from the ridge of the boarded tent roof an antler chandelier. On the right a steel-framed glass front cuts off the frame.
The Hooikamer head-on beneath the boarded tent roof on rough oak rafters, with an antler chandelier in the middle. On the left a painting of two sheep, on the right one of a cow, and between them on the chimney breast an antler skull above a wood-burning stove. Cognac leather benches with purple cushions run along the walls; in front of them three rough wooden tables laid with wine glasses, cutlery, menu cards and posies of wild flowers, with dark blue armchairs.
The Hooikamer from the door: top left the antler chandelier, bottom left a wood-burning stove in a brick chimney breast, and between them the large screen in its oak frame, showing the Het Ruiterhuys wordmark in white handwriting, above a cognac leather bench with pink and purple cushions. On the right the long meeting table with notepads, carafes and glasses, dark blue armchairs in front, on a wide oak floor.
A painted portrait of a red-and-white cow behind a barbed-wire fence, on a wall of wide oak planks in the Hooikamer. Below it a cognac leather bench with a floral cushion and a raspberry-red cushion; in the foreground, out of focus, wine glasses, salt and pepper mills, a menu card and a posy of wild flowers on the laid table.

The long thatched roof of the house behind the pond on a summer’s day: white parasols along the façade, reeds and water lilies on the water, clear blue sky above the trees.

Enjoy a delicious lunch halfway through the day, get some fresh air in the Bakkum dunes and round off the day with dinner.

And when the day is done.

Drinks afterwards don’t have to stay indoors: the terrace lies next to the rooms, covered when needed.

The covered terrace beneath a taut sail on wooden beams, with a string of bulbs underneath. Wooden tables with grey wicker chairs on a gravel floor, young trees growing up through the canopy, and lavender in the borders.
A long wooden lounge bench with grey cushions beneath the pergola, in the shade of a grapevine and old trees. Behind it tables and chairs on the paving, white parasols further on and the field beyond the hedge.

And what will be on the table?

From lunch between two sessions to dinner afterwards: four formats are ready for a group.
